A property of matter( which occupies space and possess rest mass) that tends the matter to experience a force on other objects. Charges are divided into two kinds
2. negative charge.
As we said electric charges experiences a certain force called electrostatic force on other charges. There will be an attractive force when there are two opposite charges. There will be repulsive force excerted between the like charges.
1. Force between two positive (or) negative charge is repulsive.
2. Force between a positive (or) negative charge is attractive.
It is the branch of ohysics that deals the study of electric charge at rest. The moving electric charge produces electricity whereas the static charge wont produces electric current but there will be force between those static charges (usually positive charges are protons and negative charges are electron. Where coulomb in the unit of electric charge which is equivalent of one ampere- second.
In 1785 coulomb proposed a law that related to the electrostatic force. (The force between two electric charges which are at rest). He considered two charges Q1 and Q2 which are at rest and separated by the distance r. He found that the electrostatic force between the charges are directly proportionally to the product of the two charges.

Where K is Proportionally constant which denotes the value ¼^to =9×10 Nm2/c2
